Cancellation and refunds

How to stop paying, what you get back, and the 14-day right you have by law. Cancelling takes one step from the billing page and never requires a telephone call.

How to cancel

Sign in, open billing, and select Cancel subscription. It takes effect immediately: the next renewal does not happen. There is no telephone call, no form, no offer screen and no delay.

Your plan carries on to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account falls back to the free plan. Your readings and uploads are not deleted by cancelling; they are deleted on the schedule in the privacy notice, or immediately if you delete them yourself.

If you would rather cancel by writing to us, email support@darcyclothinguk.shop or telephone +44 1273 471586 and we will do it for you. Cancelling that way takes effect on the day you contact us, not on the day we get round to it.

Your 14-day right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days from entering into a contract for digital services to cancel it and get your money back, without giving a reason.

Because this service is supplied immediately if you want it to be, the checkout asks you two separate questions. They are two distinct tick boxes, neither of which is ticked for you:

  1. Do you want the service to start now, during the 14-day cancellation period?
  2. Do you accept that once the service has been fully performed, you lose the 14-day right to cancel?

If you leave either box unticked, your subscription simply starts after the 14 days and your cancellation right is untouched. Nothing is withheld from you for saying no; you keep the free plan in the meantime.

Both statements, and the date you agreed to them, are repeated in the order confirmation email we send you, which is your durable-medium confirmation under regulation 16.

If we ever fail to give you this information before you pay, the 14-day period is extended — up to 12 months and 14 days from the start of the contract, as regulation 13 provides. We are telling you this so you can hold us to it.

Renewals, reminders and a fresh right each time

We apply the subscription rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 now, before they come into force. This is voluntary early adoption and not a current legal requirement.

  • Before each renewal you receive a reminder email. It is sent on its own and contains nothing else — no offers, no newsletter, no marketing.
  • A fresh 14-day cancellation period runs from each renewal. If you cancel within it and have not used the renewed period, the renewal is refunded in full. If you have used part of it, we refund the part you have not used.
  • Leaving is as easy as joining: the same number of steps, in the same place, without speaking to anyone.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid from. We do not refund to a different method, and we do not offer credit instead of money.

We process refunds within 14 days of accepting the cancellation, and usually within two working days. How long the money then takes to appear is a matter for your bank, normally between two and five working days.

Where you cancel a subscription during a cancellation period and had asked for the service to start immediately, we may charge for what you actually used, in proportion to the whole period — that is what regulation 36 allows. In practice, if you have produced no readings, there is nothing to charge and you get the whole amount back.

Beyond the statutory position: if the service has plainly not worked for you, write to us and say so. We would rather refund you than argue about whether we had to.

If something is wrong with the service

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the service must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose you made known to us, and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair or a replacement, and to a price reduction where a repair or replacement is not possible within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.

Tell us at support@darcyclothinguk.shop. Nothing on this page or anywhere on this site affects those rights.

Delivery

Nothing physical is sold or shipped. The service is delivered over the internet and is available as soon as your account is active, wherever you are.

There are no shipping charges, no customs charges and no delivery times, because there is nothing to deliver. Readings are produced within about a minute of upload, and within a few seconds on the Archive plan’s priority queue.

Model cancellation form

You do not have to use this form — an email saying you want to cancel is enough, and the billing page is quicker than either. It is set out here because Schedule 3, Part B of the 2013 Regulations requires it to be available to you.
