Plans

A wide interval is free. Narrowing it is what costs.

One whole-garment photograph can only ever give you a wide span. Narrowing depends on detail — a button, a pocket mouth, a fly, a hem — each contributing its own interval, and the overlap tightening as they stack up. Reading those together in one pass is what the paid plans do, and it is also the only way a clash between two clues can surface at all.

What a credit is

A measure of use, and nothing else.

Credits are not money. They are not stored value, they are not redeemable for cash, and they are not transferable. They are issued for the month they belong to and do not carry over. There are no credit packs to buy and no balance to top up — if you run out, you move up a plan or wait for the month to turn.

One question about a reading1
Feature recognition, per photograph2
Clue timeline and contradiction sheet5

A typical full reading — a whole-garment photograph, five detail close-ups, and the timeline with the contradiction sheet — costs 17 credits. The Era plan covers about twenty-five of those a month.

Before you pay

Everything that applies, in one place.

Currency and tax
Every price on this site is in US dollars (USD) and includes VAT at 20%. The figure you see at checkout is the figure taken from your card. There are no handling, processing or currency fees added by us.
Automatic renewal
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You are told this at checkout on the same screen as the price, before you pay, and again in the confirmation email.
Cancelling
One step from the billing page, at any time, with no telephone call and no retention screen. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
Your 14-day right
You have 14 days to cancel a new subscription and get your money back. Checkout asks, in two separate boxes that are not pre-ticked, whether you want the service to start immediately and whether you accept losing that right once it has been fully performed.
A fresh right at every renewal
A reminder email is sent before each renewal, on its own and never mixed with marketing, and a fresh 14-day cancellation period runs from each renewal. This goes beyond what the law currently requires.
Card security
Payments are handled by an external processor certified to PCI DSS Level 1, over an encrypted connection. Card numbers are never stored on our servers and are never visible to us.
Cards accepted
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro.
Delivery
Nothing physical is sold or shipped. Access is available as soon as the account is active, wherever you are, and readings are produced within about a minute.
Restrictions on use
Readings must not be used in a sale description, an auction catalogue entry, an authenticity claim or an insurance valuation, or as the basis for buying or selling anything.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 18 or over.
Free-plan marking
Exports on the free plan carry a mark saying which plan produced them. It sits in the margin and is never placed over the notice that this is not an authentication and not a valuation, or over the list of what the reading cannot know. Those two must stay readable on every copy of every reading.

The full agreement is in the terms of service, and the cancellation and refund position is set out at length on the cancellation and refunds page. Nothing in either of them affects your statutory rights.

Billing questions

How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?

You can cancel from the billing page at any time, in one step, with no telephone call and no retention flow. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan continues to the end of the period you have paid for.

As a consumer in the United Kingdom you normally have 14 days to cancel a subscription to digital services and receive a refund. At checkout you are asked, in two separate boxes that are not pre-ticked, whether you want the service to start immediately, and whether you accept that starting immediately means you lose that 14-day right once the service has been fully performed. If you do not tick them, the service starts after the 14 days and your right is untouched. Both statements are repeated in the confirmation email.

Beyond that, we go further than the law currently requires: every renewal is preceded by a reminder email sent on its own, and a fresh 14-day cancellation period runs from each renewal. Full detail is on the cancellation page.

What happens to my credits at the end of the month?

Credits are a measure of service use. They are issued for the month in which they apply, they do not carry over, and there is no way to buy more separately — there are no credit packs and no stored balance. If you run out, you can move to a higher plan or wait for the next month.

Credits are not money, are not stored value, cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

What do I actually get for paying?

A wide interval comes from a single whole-garment photograph, and that is what the free plan gives you. Narrowing depends on detail: a button, a pocket mouth, a fly, a hem, each contributing its own interval, and the overlap tightening as they stack up.

Paid plans read many detail close-ups against the whole garment in one pass. That is also the only way clashes surface at all — you cannot see that two clues disagree unless both are being read at the same time.

Prices are shown in US dollars and include VAT at 20%.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. Accounts are for people aged 18 or over. The service is not directed at children and accounts are not knowingly opened for anyone under 18.
